Ink Bottle Press is a small-but-mighty imprint dedicated to publishing stories that celebrate kindness, bravery and the simple power of being a good friend.

Our debut series, Charlie's Friendly Adventures, introduces readers to Charlie -- a real-life, curly-haired pup with a big heart -- and the big, brave world he's learning to explore.

Written by Regia Sargent and illustrated by her sister, Carella Herberger, these stories inspire young readers to approach the world with empathy, curiosity and confidence.

Book 1

No Difference to Charlie

Charlie is excited for his big trip, until he hears a troubling news story. Suddenly, he wonders if it's safe to be himself out in the world. But along the way, Charlie keeps encountering something simple, surprising, and powerfully good.

This heartfelt story helps children explore big feelings, small acts of courage, and the friendly strength of being themselves.

About the creators

Regia Sargent loved writing, teaching, acting, and caring for marine mammals -- but she especially loved telling a good story. Charlie's Friendly Adventures was her dream project, inspired by her very real and very friendly dog, Charlie. She believed Charlie embodied all of the kindness we would love to see in the world, and felt Charlie could show others how to be a good friend.

Regia asked her sister Carella Herberger, an artist and educator, to illustrate Charlie's tales, and they collaborated on the series for several years. Although Regia passed before the stories were published, Carella is bringing Regia's stories to the world with love and care.
