Charlie is excited for his big trip, until he hears an upsetting news story. Suddenly, Charlie starts to worry if it’s safe to be himself out in the world. But along the way, Charlie keeps encountering one simple thing and is surprised to learn that differences aren’t always what they seem.

This is the first of “Charlie’s Friendly Adventures,” stories inspired by Charlie, a real-life, curly-haired dog who was a friend to all. Through kindness and courage, Charlie helps children explore big feelings and small acts of bravery, reminding children that being friendly — and being themselves — can be their greatest strength.
